Imge Özbilge is a multidisciplinary artist who grew up pendling between countries such as Austria, Spain, Turkey and the Netherlands and has settled down in Antwerpen Belgium.
After obtaining her bachelor in the Arts at the 'Istanbul Bilgi University' she continued her master studies at the 'AKV St. Joost Academy' in the Netherlands and at KASK Royal Academy of Arts Belgium.
The starting point of her work is based on research weather if it is on the conceptual base or on the exploration of new figurative forms. Between 2009 to 2012 the artist was researching on the visualization of Middle Eastern mythologies. During this research she developed a passion for Miniature art and has researched between 2014 and 2016 on the contemporary use of Ottoman Miniatures on which she wrote her thesis on 'Contemporary Ottoman Miniatures'. The surreal aspects in her work have a base from these myths but are also a reflection of her reality. She considers her self to be an Absurdist. Her relationship with time is an important aspect in her works. This is also why the historical research is of importance during the creation on her work.
